REFLEXÕES ACERCA DAS REPERCUSSÕES DA COVID-19 EM IDOSOS

Objetivo: refletir sobre as vulnerabilidades e repercussões da Covid-19 na saúde de idosos após o diagnóstico da Covid-19. Método: trata-se de um estudo reflexivo sobre características e afecções à saúde de idosos diagnosticados com Covid-19, além das repercussões e necessidades de saúde deste público após a fase aguda da doença. Resultados: Devido ao processo de envelhecimento pessoas idosas tem maior susceptibilidade a infecção e desenvolvimento da forma grave da Covid-19. Idosos que sobreviveram a quadros mais graves são mais propensos a desenvolver manifestações tardias mesmo após 12 meses da fase aguda. Visando o enfrentamento da Covid-19 a OMS adotou um protocolo no início de 2022 para direcionar as estratégias de combate aos sintomas agudos como também a prevenção de manifestações tardias. Considerações finais: o estudo evidenciou que o conhecimento do cenário de saúde após a pandemia reforça a necessidade da busca e investigação de medidas de preservação da saúde dos idosos, além de demonstrar a necessidade de adequações nos serviços de saúde ao público alvo, visando sua recuperação e manutenção de saúde após ao período de pandemia.
